I have a corn allergy. Are KOL Foods products corn free?

With the understanding that every allergy and dietary restriction is different, we want to emphasize that we cannot guarantee that our products are 100% free of any particular allergen. We know that some people are more allergic than others, and want to emphasize that we cannot guarantee that our butchers are completely corn-free even if our beef and lamb products are. We cannot provide medical advice, for which you should consult your physician if you have specific questions.

Our American Tradition (AT) beef producers have confirmed that:

  • - they never use corn-lined gloves.
  • - to wash the meat at the slaughterhouse in line with USDA recommendations, our producers use an acid wash. They have verified that this acid is not corn-derived.
  • - "No other products other than the meat are ever brought into the raw-meat department. There is no contamination."

Our Grassland Range (GR) beef producers have informed us that:

  • - they never use corn-lined gloves.
  • - the regular meat is washed off at the slaughterhouse with an acid that is sometimes corn-derived. Passover meat is soaked in water and salted, and nothing else is added.
  • - "No other products other than the meat are ever brought into the raw-meat department. There is no contamination."

Our Lamb producer has confirmed that:

  • - they do not use corn-lined gloves. Any interventions are not derived from corn.
  • - only raw meat enters the production area.

Our poultry is pastured but also provided with additional feed that does contain corn, soy, and glutinous grains. This feed is organic, GMO-free, free from antibiotics, hormones, and arsenic and it is locally milled.

Our ready-to-eat foods (broths, sausages and deli meats) are made in an environment where corn is used, but we do not use any corn or corn-derived ingredients.

Our salmon does not, to the best of our knowledge, come into contact with corn-derived products.

All of our meat is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen immediately after butchering. It is stored in a freezer and shipped so that it stays frozen for delivery. This precaution should prevent any contact with potential allergens after it has left the facility. If you have any concern that is not addressed here, please feel free to reach out to us on our Contact Us page or by emailing info@kolfoods.com.
